Alphabet Parade
When my daughter was a toddler in the late 1990s, quality children’s music was a little hard to find, so I decided to produce my own. I was fortunate enough to live in a town that was going through a musical renaissance. So many talented musicians made Z’Gwon,th Recording Studios in Lawrence, KS their home. It was here that we all created Alphabet Parade together.
Many musicians contributed to all the songs in this album, including the parade of letters in which each letter has its own unique performance. My young child was just being introduced to the alphabet and its various sounds. This, along with my faith in music as a powerful educational tool, is what inspired me to produce Alphabet Parade.

How much is that doggie in the window
The one with the waggly tail
How much is that doggie in the window
I do hope that doggie’s for sale
How much is that kitty in the window
The one with the really long tail
How much is that kitty in the window
I do hope that kitty’s for sale

Look out the window, look out the window
And see what you can see
Look out the window, look out the window
And see what you can see
I see some houses and some trees
And a park
There’re some kids swinging on a swing
And a kid going down the slide
Look out the window, look out the window
And see what you can see
Look out the window, look out the window
And see what you can see
I see a street
I see some cars
And some traffic lights too
Yellow and red and green
Red means stop
Green means go
And yellow means slow down
Look out the window, look out the window
And see what you can see
Look out the window, look out the window
And see what you can see
There’s a sidewalk
And a lady with a stroller and a baby inside
I see a man walking his dog
They’re waiting for the walk sign
And they’re walking across the street
Look out the window, look out the window
And see what you can see
Look out the window, look out the window
And see what you can see
There’s a taxi cab
And a bus
Look! A fire engine
The cars are getting out of the way
Uh oh! A traffic jam
Look out the window, look out the window
And see what you can see
Look out the window, look out the window
And see what you can see
Do you see all those people way down in the middle of the street
Yeah, I hear some music, too
It looks like, like a
Parade

Goes wading in a puddle
Goes wading in a puddle quite small
Quack, quack

Way up in the sky
The little birds fly
While down in the nest
The little birds rest
With a wing on the left
And a wing on the right
The little birds sleep
All through the night
Shhhh, they’re sleeping
The bright sun comes out
The dew falls away
Good morning, good morning
The little birds say
-

In a cottage in the woods
Little man by the window stood
Saw a rabbit hopping by
Knocking at the door
Help me
Help me
Help, he said
'Fore the hunter shoots me dead
Little rabbit come inside
Safely to abide

Sittin’ on a 4 leaf clover
Watchin’ the sun kiss the moon goodbye
All the daisies lean over
To say good mornin’ to a butterfly
Sittin’ on a lily pad today
Watchin’ the sun a way up high
All the froggies are glad to say
Good afternoon to a dragonfly
Layin’ in my mama’s lap tonight
Watchin’ the moon risin’ in the sky
All the moths gather by the light
To say good evenin’ to a firefly
Good evenin’ to a firefly
Good evenin’ to a firefly
Good night, little firefly

When bedtime comes the baby mice
They cuddle close to Mommy
Snuggle up to her soft warm fur
And fall asleep on her tummy
Mommy watches as they sleep
She hears the slightest sound
Da do dee do
Though night be cold and dark and deep
It’s all safe with Mom around
Dee do dee do dee do
